Place of Birth : Tokyo
March, 1979 Graduated from the Hosei University, Faculty of Letters II (Bachelor degree of Literature majoring in Japanese Literature acquired).
April, 1980 Joined the Japan Arts Council's Training School for Kabuki Actors as a 6th term trainee.
March, 1982 Completed the entire program of the Japan Arts Council's Training School for Kabuki Actors.
September, 1982 Commenced a professional career as a member of the Nakamura Jakuemon IV family under an acting name, Nakamura Kyozo newly given by the master.
Ever since, continues the professional career through regular monthly performances in Kabuki-za(Tokyo), National Theatre(Tokyo), Osaka Shochiku-za, Minami-za(Kyoto), Misono-za(Nagoya) , Hakata-za(Fukuoka) etc, as well as other domestic tours of Kabuki performances nationwide. Also, participates in lecture-cum-performance tours of Kabuki overseas such as in Europe, the USA, Oceania, the South-East Asia etc...
April, 1994 Promoted to Nadai(billboard-ranked actor) in Kabuki-za.
November, 2005 Has been authorized to be a holder of "Important Intangible Cultural Properties - Kabuki (collective recognition) -
May, 2007 The 13th Japan Actors' Association Prize awarded.
December, 2007 The 62nd Agency of Cultural Affairs National Arts Festival New Artist Award in Dance (fiscal year of 2007) awarded.
Currently, teaching as a part-time lecturer of the faculty of Education in Chiba University as well as of Art and Communication Evening Division in Tama Art University and an instructor of the Japan Arts Council's Training School for Kabuki Actors.

Participate into performances Chigyo-no-kai, Kabuki-kai etc. in National Theatre organized by the Japan Arts Council. Also, annually hold a family's young actors' performing show Ohbai-kai.

Performed as a main actor in "Hanjyo" and "Sotoba Komachi" from "Kindai Nogakushu"(Collection of Modern Nogaku) written by Yukio Mishima.

Performed in a fantasy Kabuki, "Tsuchimikado Oji"(Tsuchimikado Avenue) directed by Sennojo Shigeyama.

Took a main role, Princess Salome in "Salome Kyukyu no Dan" written and directed by Masakatsu Gunji jointly performed by a dancer, Bishop Yamada.

Took a main role, Maria of Magdara in a 'Genshi Kabuki'(Ancient Kabuki) "Aomori no Christ" (Christ in Aomori) written and directed by Masakatsu Gunji. Jointly performed by a dancer, Yukio Waguri.
August, 1997 Space Zero(Shinjuku,Tokyo)
Held the 17th year Ohbai-kai where an entire story of 'Kagamiyama Kokyo no Nishikie' was presented.
Took a role of Iwafuji.

Held the 18th year Ohbai-kai where three acts - 'Yoshinogawa', 'Michiyuki' and 'Goten' from "Imoseyama Onna Teikin" were presented.
Took roles, Sadaka in 'Yoshinogawa' and Tachibana Hime(Princess Tachibana) in both 'Michiyuki' and 'Goten.'
This year's Ohbai-kai was elected to be one of the year's best 5 in December edition of a monthly theater magazine "Engeki-kai."
